British film producer Duncan Kenworthy, OBE (Four Weddings and a Funeral, Love Actually, Notting Hill)was the guest of honour at the Inside Pictures graduation party, held at London’s Century Club.

The 23 participants of the Inside Pictures film business training and leadership skills development programme were honoured to receive their certificates from the Toledo Productions producer who congratulated them on their achievements.

The flagship event celebrated the end of the 11th edition of this programme for high calibre people from across film production, sales, marketing, distribution, legal and business affairs and financing. It was also an opportunity to thank the programme’s supporters, funders and the film industry.

This year’s programme included a presentation from the directors of Original Content at Netflix and a hearing from Bill Mechanic and Steve Golin.

Three of this year’s cohort are producers on films that premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival: Bart Van Langendonck (Labyrinthus); Reinier Selen (Secrets of War); Teun Hilte (Miss Julie).

Nik Powell congratulated Julia Short, Inside Pictures Programme Director, Content, and the participants: “We are immensely proud of what the partnership between the NFTS, Creative Skillset and the MEDIA Programme is achieving year on year. The impressive accomplishments of Inside Pictures' alumni network are a testament to the quality of the course and its participants. We congratulate this year’s cohort on completing the course and wish them well for their future endeavours.”

Alumni are connected to other films that made the 2014 TIFF selection: Raymond van der Kaaij (They Have Escaped); Peter de Maegd (Cub); Phil Hunt (Hector And the Search For Happiness) and one of the producers’ films has been selected as the foreign language entry for the Academy Awards in 2015.

Inside Pictures is delivered by the National Film and Television School and funded by the European MEDIA programme and Creative Skillset’s Film Skills Fund.

The Film Distributors’Association, Ingenious Media and the Irish Film Board provide scholarships and the programme also receives support from The British Film Commission (L.A), the British Consul-General in L.A, Lee & Thompson LLP and Wiggin LLP.
