A fantastic 50 NFTS graduates are involved in 16 of the films nominated for Oscars at the 88th Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Foreign Film, Best Animated Film and Best Documentary.
They include DoP Roger Deakins who is nominated for Best Cinematography for Sicario, executive producer Nick Park whose Aardman film Shaun the Sheep is nominated for Best Animated Feature, sound mixer Stuart Wilson who is part of the team nominated for Best Sound Mixing for Star Wars: The Force Awakens and recent graduate Tim Reckart who is an animator on Anomalisa which is nominated for Best Animated Film.
The School is delighted to see so many of our talented graduates working in 10 out of a possible 20 craft categories on these films ranging from cinematography and sound to production design, visual effects. While many of the films have already proved to be box office hit films such as Star Wars: The Force Awakens, The Martian or family entertainment such as Shaun the Sheep, it is also good to see our graduates working on independent productions such as 45 Years, The Danish Girl, Carol, Theeb and many others.
Good luck to all of our graduates involved.
