NFTS film Edmond (writer/director Nina Gantz, prod. Emilie Jouffroy, pictured above) has just won Best British Animation at the 2016 EE BAFTA Awards – the third time in a row we have won in that category. It was competing alongside another NFTS film – MANOMAN (dir. Simon Cartwright, prod. Kamilla Kristiane Hodol), a first for two NFTS films to be competing for the same prize.
In 2014 we won with Sleeping With The Fishes, and in 2015 The Bigger Picture brought home the Award. Yet again, our students have proved that our consistently high standards can compete with Industry at the top level.
In the Best British Short Film category, current producing student Caroline Bartleet won with her short film Operator. Graduates worked on both this and another competing film in the category – Samuel-613. In 2014, graduate James W. Griffiths won the award with his film Room 8, and in 2015 Michael Lennox won with Boogaloo and Graham– proving that our students and graduates regularly go on to make, or get key roles on award-winning productions.
In all, 82 students and graduates were involved in nominated films – an amazing achievement. We would like to congratulate all of those nominated or involved in the productions listed below.
